Not all peoples’ data is worth the same. There’s so much involved. But even if you decide to pay per post, which largely would just lead to people spamming anyway, you can’t control the data, because the data is used to train the neural networks that cannot be broken down!

Once your data is integrated into the neural network, it loses its individual identity and becomes part of the broader “knowledge” of the neural network.

Therefore a law which demands that we have full control of our data would make neural networks illegal. Finally, recommender systems are black boxes, so laws that require that an entity explain in detail how a decision was reached cannot provide that answer.

For instance, if a recommeder system utilizes a number of parameters to decide whether or not to give you a loan, or how much to give, the lender can only say “these parameters were involved.” They cannot say “well you were rejected because of x, y, and z.”
