The Definitional Paradox (One Aspect of the Compulogical Fallacy)
The two words that make up the term ‘machine learning’ when combined in that order result in a term which is a logical contradiction. The meanings of the words in the term (as described by their definitions and their actual use in the real [non technology centered] world) make that necessarily the case. To greatly simplify, a machine cannot learn for if it did it would no longer be a machine. The definitional paradox flows out of the compulogical fallacy which describes the logical fallacies that arise when we attempt to assign properties/attributes/characteristics to computers and/or machines that can only correctly (logically) be applied to human beings and some non human animals with (mostly) whole and intact nervous systems including a brain.
