The Last Platform

We believe in the Evolution of current systems, not the destruction of such systems through a Revolution.

A little more than a year ago, I released a blog post called Polyocracy’s White Paper V.1.1. Within those lines lie the passionate expressions of a young man grasping with the problems of this world and suggesting possible ways to fix them. A lot has happened since then. I’ll sum it all up with Rumi’s famous quote:

“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

We’ll save the tangent about personal growth for a different time… Let’s get back to the main order of business: THE DEBUT OF POLY186. I’m debuting Poly186 as a result of evolving the centralizing idea of Polyocracy. As a refresher here is what the centralizing idea of Polyocracy:

Polyocracy is a platform that enables individuals to self-organize into both local and online communities; focused around sustainable and ethical projects. This platform will serve as a decentralized mobilization tool that will seamlessly facilitate peer to peer social contract formation. By building formal networks of collaboration, we enable people to efficiently pull their efforts and compensate for lack of resources.

To carry along the evolutionary themes of this piece, I wanted to update the psychological and emotional underpinning that led to Polyocracy’s White Paper V.1.1. I’d like to call out one specific negative chain of thoughts and emotions. Back then I used to think that I could use the guile of fear mongering within a veneer of a messiah complex. I’m not here to convince you nor save you. The power to do both lies within You. I’m simply here to share my vision, mission, and values that have enabled me to surmount the endless streams of nihilism presented by the shadows within. With that being said, let’s hop right into it!

The Last Platform

The Last Platform… Hmmm🤔. That sounds like more of the same guy from a year ago sipping too much of his own kool-aid. But before we can write me off as that let’s objectively analyze what’s this ‘new’ think Princeps Polycap is presenting. HEADS UP: paragraph of jargon coming up 😊

Poly186 is focused on creating products and services that improve Life Conditions and reducing Suffering. Our company’s goal is to usher in an age of post-scarcity by refining Humanity’s ability to self-organizate in service of attaining complete knowledge in the manipulation of Energy & Matter at their subatomic levels.

You are probably thinking… “Sounds Awesome but I don’t know what this even means?” or “This guy is totally nuts… there is no way anyone can achieve this”

We’ll tackle these hypothetical questions sequentially:

Sounds Awesome but I don’t know what this even means?

Imagine the year is 2077. Life is Sublime. Non-sentient machines perform all the tasks necessary in the extraction, processing, and utilization of natural resources towards creating products and service that ensure: No belly goes hungry. No head goes on without a roof on top of it. No back that goes unclothed. No soul enslaved: to the pursuit of money or any other experience.

Such a world was inspired by the passage below from one of my favorite series:

“[The Culture couldn’t ]imprison itself with laws, impoverish itself with money or misguide itself with leaders, so it would not misrepresent itself with signs”

— Consider Phlebas ( Iain M. Banks)

Sounds like anarchism huh? As Rudolf Rocker so wisely put it once;

“Freedom is the very essence of life, the impelling force in all intellectual and social development, the creator of every new outlook for the future of mankind. The liberation of man from economic exploitation and from intellectual and political oppression, which finds its finest expression in the world-philosophy of Anarchism, is the first prerequisite for the evolution of a higher social culture and a new humanity”

What this all means is that the last platform has to be systems of processes that dynamically balance the needs of the individual with the needs of the collective. I’m working on non-sentient machines that will perform all the tasks necessary in the extraction, processing, and utilization of natural resources towards creating products and service that improve Life Conditions and Reduce Suffering. Above lay the first principles and macro-level view of what my working vision, mission and values of this company are. Now let’s shift focus onto the ‘How’.

This guy is totally nuts… there is no way anyone can achieve this

This guy is totally nuts… there is no way anyone can achieve this.” You right if you thought this. I am totally nuts and I can’t achieve all this alone. You see Poly186 is a result of the evolution of Polyocracy. During the past year, I realized that Polyocracy wasn’t enough to aptly achieve my vision in its entirety. In my current 20/20 vision, I see that in Polyocracy’s White Paper V.1.1 was trying to do too much without clearly defining my vision. This made execution nearly impossible. So let’s fix that. To cover our bases, here is a little recap:

Humanity is made or unmade by its tools. There are two types of tools namely: physical and abstract. Physical tools help us accomplish physical tasks such as hammering a nail, using a calculator to solve an equation, using a ballot box to gather citizen votes, etc. Abstract tools would be something like the blueprints showcasing where to hammer the nail to or the abstract algorithms that the calculator uses to solve your equation. In this piece, we will focus the social systems that enable us to self organize into societies all over the world. Democracies, Monarchies, Communism, Dictatorships, etc. can all be considered abstract tools that humans use to be able to engage in decentralized autonomous organizations that lead to the asynchronous building of our civilization. Nonetheless, our societies are currently unraveling at the seams. This is because we are still using abstact ancient tools that have barely been updated to fit our modern needs. Structural leverage points such as, the ability to trust in one another or in the nation-state that one lives in, has been eroding. This is paralyzing our species leaving us vulnerable and unable to coordinate collective decisions towards changing the projected state of our future. To be clear I’m not here to call for a revolution. A revolution means repeating the evolution that has already happened. Let’s not repeat the past. Let’s evolve our current tools into newer versions of themselves that will enable us to be able to build the kind of future we want.

The kind of future we want is one in which no sentient being has to work for basic physiological needs such as food, shelter, water, education, energy, and security. Essentially what we envision is a post-scarcity society in which all mundane tasks are handled by machines.

If it’s not clear yet, I HATE the fact that this reality doesn’t provide, food shelter, education, and energy for free. A social system that isn’t able to guarantee such basics for its inhabitants is fundamental flawed. Don’t get me wrong, A LOT of smart people working to solve this fundamental flaw from multiple perspectives given that such a problem has multiple dimensions. So essentially with Poly186, I’m creating the centralized context that enables multi-faceted decentralize solutions to emerge in response to our changing environment into the one we want.

Let’s clearly built up to this fundamental meta-problem. The equation below will serve as a good reference point that should help us build a clear understanding of the problem we are solving.

(↕ Social Forces+ ↕ Environmental Forces) = ↕ Life Conditions = ↕ Suffering

Both Social and Environmental forces combine to create the Living Conditions of any particular region on Earth. Life Conditions are constituted by the two bottom ranks of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. There exists an inverse relationship between Life Conditions and Suffering.

To be clear I don’t mean the existential crisis type of suffering, which is caused by the lack of stimuli found higher in the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. The type of suffering our platform is focused on eradicating are sufferings associated with the lack of basic needs, essentially the two bottom ranks of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Humanity creates living conditions through the conscious or unconscious manipulation of social forces and environmental forces. Political systems and other networks of society are examples of how human inventions that lead to the creation of the life conditions humans exist in. Up until recent times environmental forces only constituted mother nature but over the past few centuries humanity has proven to possess the capability to influence environmental forces, though our knowledge about this set needs some growth. To recap:

(↕ Social Forces+ ↕ Environmental Forces) = ↕ Life Conditions = ↕ Suffering

Today the blockchain is making the beginning of a new digital revolution whose focus is not just human communication but rather humane interaction and cooperation, what the internet has done to achieve global interpersonal communication the blockchain can do to achieve global and systematic collaboration — Primevera de Filippi of Harvard

To directly answer your questions, the issue this platform solves is suffering through our open-sourced end to end system enables peer to peer social contract formation leading to the creation of formal decentralized networks of collaboration that create and sell products and services that improve their living conditions while lowering their suffering. Blockchain is a coordination technology that relies on a decentralized network of computers in order to coordinate individual actions in a decentralized manner.

We get the emergence of an effective organization through positive synergies which involves people differentiating their activities while also coordinating them within some combined process — System Academy

Our Product Ecosystem

Social contracts are the foundational piece to our systemic transformation in human coordination. A social contract is an implicit agreement among members of a society to cooperate for social benefits. Our entire civilization has been building using social contracts between individuals of set civilization. Examples of social contracts range from; voting for a political candidate to represent you in Congress, clicking agrees in the Terms of Services page, a verbal agreement between friends, etc. The fabric of society is literarily woven by the threads of our formal and informal social contracts between each other. Poly186 offers an evolved version of social contracts as a service. For this to work, Poly186 has to come preloader with Self Sovereign Identities (SSI) that are used in establishing implicit and explicit agreements between individuals or organizations. The definition below of SSI is from Metadium:

We use the terminology of SSI, as the concept of individuals or organizations having sole ownership of their digital and analog identities, and control over how their personal data is shared and used. This adds a layer of security and flexibility allowing the identity holder to only reveal the necessary data for any given transaction or interaction. Since identity is such a central part of society, we need to ensure that user control will be the primary foundation SSI will be built upon.

Poly186 will contribute to projects such as Metadium that are working on SSI rather than re-inventing our own. On top of this identity layer, we add the ability for individuals or organizations to establish implicit and explicit agreements stored on public and private distributed ledgers. This combination of technologies enables us to infuse trust in the reputation of individuals and organization engaging in our decentralized networks of collaboration. Such a trustless protocol enables all the prosumers (producers and consumers) engaging on our platform to extract, process, and utilize natural resources towards the creation, selling and purchasing of products and service that improve Life Conditions and Reduce Suffering.

In the beginning, creators on our platform shall focus on the technologies stacked on top of Poly186 in the figure below:

This piece is only supposed to be a debut of Poly186 and later works shall go into depth on each of the above products and services. Earlier in this piece, I said:

If it’s not clear yet, I HATE the fact that this reality doesn’t provide, food shelter, education, and energy for free. A social system that isn’t able to guarantee such basics for its inhabitants is fundamental flawed. Don’t get me wrong, A LOT of smart people working to solve this fundamental flaw from multiple perspectives given that such a problem has multiple dimensions. So essentially with Poly186, I’m creating the centralized context that enables multi-faceted decentralize solutions to emerge in response to our changing environment into the one we want.

With Poly186 servicing as a decentralized mobilization tool, individuals can collaborate globally to build and sell the above products and services. But oh smart reader you must be wondering, how does this get us to a:

Sublime Life in which non-sentient machines perform all the tasks necessary in the extraction, processing, and utilization of natural resources towards creating products and service that ensure: No belly goes hungry. No head goes on without a roof on top of it. No back that goes unclothed. No soul enslaved: to the pursuit of money or any other experience.

Revalation

Suppose that we start with a workforce ratio that is 100% Human to 0% Machines. Our ecosystem of products allows humans who don’t wish to be enslaved within the workforce doing mundane jobs they hate to teach non-sentient machines to perform all the tasks necessary to their role. Once all the tasks are automated, the human who taught the machines such tasks can earn royalties from the machine working until a better way to perform the tasks is invented.

Back to the grander vision, imagine Phase I being when the workforce ratio is at 100% Human to 0% Machines. After 4 evolutions of our workforce, we’d have automated all the tasks necessary in the extraction, processing, and utilization of natural resources towards creating products and service that improve Life Conditions and Reduce Suffering. This is essentially the structure of a decentralized autonomous organization that automates the creation and distribution of products and services driving the cost of producing products and services that reduce suffering and improve living conditions so low that they become ubiquitous and available to everyone. I believe in the Evolution of current systems, not the destruction of such systems through a Revolution. Above has been my proposed evolutionary path.

Join me in realizing this vision for not just your benefit, but for the benefit of all mankind, in the present and future. In the next pieces, I’ll dive deeper into each of the products. The next piece will be able the inner workings of Poly186 and work my way to Poly Robotics where we will talk about building virtual and physical realities. If you have any questions feel free to submit them below. Until next time, stay woke and awesome.
